Did you know that anyone can make a “Webster's Dictionary.” The company Merriam-Webster was not able to win the legal battle to have exclusive rights to the name “Webster.” The Oxford English Dictionary also has an interesting story. The editor requested readers to submit notable quotations for entries into the dictionary. One of the largest contributors was a resident at an institute for the criminally insane.
