Philosophy professors are perhaps the most interesting kind of professors out there. It's seems to be the nature of the business. Philosophers think about hard stuff. Issues that are most people don't think about and issues that most people don't want to think about. They ask questions like: does God really exist? Or how do we know what is real? They ask and try to answer questions that if a person consumed his life with answering, he might not end his life as a sane man. This seems to make for an interesting person, often with a quirky sense of humor. One philosophy professor, loved to present his students with the following argument: 1)Nothing is better than eternal happiness. 2)A ham sandwich is better than nothing. 3) Therefore a ham sandwich is better than eternal happiness.
